Nancy O'Dell's broadcast career began as an anchor and journalist for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She then worked as an anchor in the morning and a reporter on WCBD TV. O'Dell's reports in Charleston concerning the lack of leniency by police when it comes to DUI cases prompted a State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. It led to the state government imposing more stringent guidelines in these cases. It was reported that the Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with the Best Report of the Years Award across all South Carolina Media. O'Dell, after her stint working in Charleston reporting, was a co-anchor at the NBC Miami WTVJ-TV station, before transferring over to Access Hollywood where she is currently a co-anchor and correspondent during weekends. O'Dell is the anchor of choice at Access Hollywood. In addition, she contributes to NBC News Today and Dateline NBC. She covered events such as The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. In addition to co-hosting Pre-ShowArrivals for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. She has also hosted the Miss USA Pageant and Miss Universe.
